Born in 1974 in Japan. The creator of Monchhichi, Mr Sekiguchi, combined the plush Kuta Kuta Monkey with the vinyl face of the GeGe thumb-sucking doll. He created a pair of twins straight away: a boy and a girl. The cuddly monkeys quickly became a bestseller in Japan and continue to win the hearts of children all over the world.
